We are a new centre in Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex, offering counselling and psychotherapy to the local community. The centre is new but all our therapists have years of experience, are trained to a high standard and are registered with one of the main governing bodies such as BACP, UKCP, HCPC.

This means they have completed rigorous and academically challenging trainings, and adhere to a strict code of conduct in the way they work.
Our expert team offer therapeutic services to adults, adolescents, children, couples and families.
Our Ethos
Becky (Co-founder) trained in the Humanistic tradition originally (2010-2012), going onto further training as an Integrative Psychotherapist (2012-2014). She later taught on the same training for 5 years, training counsellors and psychotherapists at Masters level. The fundamental ethos that underpins Humanistic working informs the ethos of Hurst Therapy Centre.

Trauma informed approach - most symptoms (eg. depression, anxiety, addictions, anger issues, post traumatic stress, pain) are a result of our nervous system and brains responding in a natural and expected way to traumatic experiences, events, relationships and even destructive patterns are usually grounded in a survival response of some kind.
Understanding the root causes of suffering and finding compassion towards oneself are the route to healing. We feel strongly about validating your unique lived experience and step away from over pathologising or victim blaming.

Egalitarianism and inclusivity - creating an equal power dynamic in the room is paramount to our approach. We are a team of experts with a wealth of experience, training and theory to bring, however it is you, the client, who will find the route to healing in the end. We will be committed and dedicated in our endeavour to help bring about positive change, whilst taking care not to step into too much heavy handed advice giving.
All clients our welcome and we celebrate the full range of humanity that we have the privilege of working alongside therapeutically.
