A Bit About Me

I work with a range of issues, including anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, trauma and feeling stuck, and have particular experience working with:
-
young adults (18 to mid 20s) to reduce anxiety and help them move into adulthood confidently, something that feels particularly challenging and complicated at this current time
-
individuals and their carers adjusting to life with or after serious illness, including cancer
-
those experiencing the challenges of midlife: relationship issues, loss, retirement, empty nest, health worries, coping strategies no longer working
-
I also work with couples, to improve communication and understand entrenched patterns.

I have spent much of my working life as a journalist and author, so understand the emotional challenges facing anyone working in the creative industries, particularly the self-employed. These include anxiety, isolation, imposter syndrome and self-doubt.
My training is in Transactional Analysis (TA). A founding principal of TA is that everyone is OK, and that people can change – that sits at the heart of my work.
I am also fascinated by existential TA, which invites us to reflect and face into the big challenges of existence, so that we can find joy and vitality in the face of uncertainty, at all stages of our lives.
