A Bit About Me
I am a clinical psychologist, having completed a three-year doctorate, and with over a decade's experience working clinically within the NHS. I am accredited to support people to overcome a range of difficulties through psychological therapy. In my current NHS role, I co-lead a busy HIV and Sexual Health Psychology Service in London. I specialise in supporting people to enhance their sexual wellbeing and communication, and to find ways that are meaningful for them to connect with others.
In my private practice, I offer individual and group therapy to adult clients, as well as clinical supervision and consultation to other professionals and teams. I am trained in a number of therapeutic models and will draw on a range of ideas and techniques to find a way of working that fits for you and your therapy goals.
I am deeply committed to my practice being affirmative and inclusive for people of all genders, sexualities, relational styles, racial identities, and religious and cultural backgrounds. I will be keen to understand what you value; how you are connected, and would like to connect, with others; how you relate with the different aspects of yourself; and what has sustained you through adversity up until now. Most importantly, my aim will be to understand what you want to get out of therapy and support you in moving towards that.
Some of the reasons people seek therapy with me are:
-
Psychosexual difficulties, such as painful sex (including vaginismus and vulvodynia), low sexual desire / libido, erection difficulties, ejaculation difficulties, and anorgasmia
-
Difficulties associated with living with a sexual health condition such as HIV or herpes simplex, including adjusting to diagnosis, taking medication, experiences of stigma, talking with others about the condition, and navigating sex and relationships
-
Reflecting upon and navigating relationships, including for gender, sexuality and/or relationally diverse people
-
Rediscovering intimacy following trauma
-
Significant life events, e.g. bereavement and loss, ending of relationships
-
Life and role transitions, e.g. transition to parenthood, beginning and end of relationships, menopause, retirement
-
Anxiety (including social anxiety, generalised anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, and panic attacks), stress, burnout, post-traumatic stress disorder and/or low mood
Please get in touch if you'd like to arrange a free 15-minute initial phone call to talk more about how we could work together.
